Young People's Concerts

We invite you to attend our Young People's Concerts, which have been presented annually by the Westmoreland Symphony since 1977. This field trip to the Palace Theatre in Greensburg is a memorable experience in itself, and for many of you, it will be your first trip to hear a live symphony orchestra: a feast for the ears AND eyes!

If you've attended Young People's Concerts before, you know that each concert is based on a particular theme. Previous themes include Stormchasers, Musicolympics, Music from Outer Space, The Bird Catcher, Music of the Dance, Cowboys and Indians and Music from Around the World. This year the Westmoreland Symphony presented a program built around the theme Peter and the Wolf. The program included works by Glinka, Prokofiev, Kreisler and Williams. Daniel Meyer, Resident Conductor for the PSO conducted this year's performace. There was a wonderful turnout, and the concerts provided an enjoyable and enriching time for all who attended!
