We invite you to attend our Young People's Concerts, which have been presented annually by the Westmoreland Symphony since 1977. This field trip to the Palace Theatre in Greensburg is a memorable experience in itself, and for many of you, it will be your first trip to a live symphony orchestra, a feast for the ears AND eyes!
If you've attended Young People's Concerts before, you know that each concert is based on a particular theme. Previous themes include Music from Outer Space, The Bird Catcher, Music of the Dance, Cowboys and Indians and Music from Around the World. This year the Westmoreland Symphony presents a program built around Prokoviev’s Peter and the Wolf. The concerts will be held on November 11, 2008 at 10:30 and 1:30.
Please see your music teacher for more details.
Note to teachers: The morning concert sells out quickly - we encourage any school, including home schoolers and other small groups, to take advantage of the afternoon performance. Tickets cost $3 for students, teachers and chaperones. Register early if you are interested in the 10:30 performance. Registration forms are available through the Symphony Office.
